Hi, I’m Imme

I tend to notice the things around me that are usually overlooked. Like the beautiful design of a trash bin, or the subtle hand gestures around a cup of coffee. Those seemingly uninteresting things become the most interesting to me. They become the core of my projects.

By making the trash bin a piece of art and using the hand gestures to design cups, I create diverse products that celebrate the unnoticed. Debris grit turns into a painting and beer barrels become lamps. My projects promote the sustainable and creative mindset that seemingly unimportant things can have great value. You can find real hidden gems when trying to notice the unnoticed!

In my work I mostly use pure materials and simple designs to accentuate the beauty of the raw material or object itself. All the design choices I make from the making process to packaging are with sustainability in mind.

After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2021, I moved back to my beloved hometown Utrecht. I established my studio in a former prison cel at Wolvenplein. After 2 years I moved to creative hub Vechtclub XL, finding more space and new creative sources. When I’m not at my studio, I work as a ceramicist at Husk Ceramics or as a barista at Loaf.
